The International Commercial Law programme offers students the opportunity to explore a variety of commercial law subjects in an international context. Students on the programme gain specialist legal knowledge within a practical context, whilst developing expertise in chosen areas and enhancing research skills.
The programme will be of interest to legal practitioners, to those in business and to those people in the public sector who encounter various aspects of International Commercial Law.
The programme builds upon participants’ experience - whether gained through undergraduate study, employment or legal practice - and in addition to developing existing expertise and knowledge, the programme offers a range of practical benefits including:
Greater awareness of legal commercial issues
- The ability to apply specialist legal knowledge to practical problems
- The acquisition of expertise in new specialist areas
- The ability to critically evaluate legal issues
- Enhanced research and presentation skills
In addition to two compulsory modules, this LLM provides the opportunity for students to study four options related to various aspects of international commercial activity. In order to obtain a Masters degree (LLM), students must complete an additional research project of between 15,000 and 17,000 words in an area of their choice, enabling them to explore a topic of particular interest to them in greater detail.
The Law School is aware of a number of colleges in the UK (mainly in London) offering support programmes for students studying for our LLM Distance Learning degrees. These programmes of study have been designed as distance learning programmes with no attendance requirements therefore allowing students the opportunity to study for these awards from anywhere in the world. Increasingly, we are receiving enquiries in relation to “links” with these Colleges. The Law School does not operate any form of accreditation or validation scheme and has no collaboration, franchising, affiliation or similar type of agreement with any of these Colleges. Northumbria University is not the awarding body for any of these Colleges. If you require any clarification about this please email email@example.com
