Info MSc Computer Networks develops theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for employment in the network industry. The programme has been designed with a complementary set of modules that will build skills to the level that would enable students to complete external CISCO and CCNP examinations in addition to achieving the University MSc qualification.

COURSEWORK AND ASSESSMENT
The programme consists of a balance of taught modules and a project making 180 credit points in total. Each module on the course is separately assessed. This could be by either coursework assignments and/or examinations. Assignments can take the form of research reports, systems analysis documentation, or programming exercises, as appropriate for the module. Students will normally take half of the course as taught modules, together with a project equivalent to one half of the course. Every project involves both research and practical work and culminates in a dissertation.
CAREERS
This programme is designed to allow students to update, extend and deepen their knowledge in a flexible course to enhance their career opportunities. The increasing demand for specialists in network security and in network programming means that a graduate of this programme has excellent employment prospects in Computer Networks. Alternatively, graduates are very well equipped for further research in an academic or research & development environment and the mix of research, numerical and problem solving skills are desirable to careers outside of this subject.
FUNDING
A limited number of scholarships for international students may be awarded for the course. Applications for a scholarship are considered on an individual basis and any award is primarily determined by consideration of academic achievement.
