COURSEWORK AND ASSESSMENT

Each module of study is assessed by coursework assignments, end of module examinations or a combination of these. All modules have some elements of practical work, much of which makes use of computer systems. The final year project may or may not be initiated by work during placement, but does not formally commence until the second semester. It consists of an end project and a project explaining and evaluating the project process.

ACCREDITATION

Honours graduates will be fully exempt from BCS professional qualifications and will partially meet the requirements for CEng.

CAREERS

Business Computing opens up a variety of career opportunities for graduates. By liaising with key members of the industry about the skills they desire we are able to educate students accordingly.
Some possible career paths include programming, systems analysis, software engineering, system implementing, database administrating, multimedia design and network managing. Career prospects are excellent.
Graduates may be involved in implementing web solutions to business problems, seeking out and applying new technologies to existing internet systems, or managing increasingly sophisticated internet services.
