Northumbria University has a first rate reputation for working in partnership and consultation with the travel and tourism industries. Reflecting the scale, diversity and significance of the industry, this programme studies the economic, social, political and environmental aspects of tourism. Not only does it enable you to develop valuable business skills, it gives you the opportunity to specialise in aspects of the travel and tourism business plus modern languages.

The programme is supplemented by a series of high-profile talks from guest speakers.

With the additional benefit of a year in industry, this programme produces graduates of a high calibre, many of whom can now be found in senior positions in travel and tourism organisations.

Placement
There is the opportunity to undertake a year-long placement at the end of Year 2. Students get full support from the Placements Office to obtain a placement to prepare them for final year studies and future employment. Organisations include the Civil Aviation Authority, Marriott, Olympic Activities Abroad and more.
