This programme is about helping to develop the managers who will run the hotels, the airlines, the tour operators, and so on that will enable tourism to flourish. The emphasis of the programme is on management within the context of the tourist industries and this draws on expertise from across NBS as well as academics from the tourism specialism. Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) are a vital part of the multidisciplinary operating theatre team. Working with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses they help ensure every operation is as safe and effective as possible. ODPs are concerned with the maintenance and restoration of the physiological and physical status of the patient at all levels of dependency, through assessment, planning and delivery of individualised care.

This course gives students a thorough grounding in the skills required for a variety of performance contexts, in order to produce multi-skilled performers who meet the demands of current, professional practice. Performance-based modules explore new approaches and develop individuals whose skills go beyond those of performers trained by traditional conservatoires. Such a performer communicates through the spoken word, movement, sound, music, song and visual imagery and is interested in the contemporary arts in its broadest sense.

This degree relates to the uses of chemistry in modern society in the development, production and analysis of bio-active compounds.
