This course encourages an engagement with, and the practice of, writing. Working within a critical and creative academic community, students will study and create a range of texts. From the first year students will encounter and produce work which covers all aspects of English and Journalism, including news practice, editing, writing and reporting, fictions, literary history and theory. Various options in both English and Journalism are pursued from the second year onwards in areas such as international journalism, new media journalism and literary practices and histories. The course is one which aims to produce graduates that are employable, critical and creative.
