Flexible Learning
Part-time courses can be studied in a number of ways:
Evening Attendance
Some courses run on weekday
evenings and may require attendance once or twice a week. Hours, for
example, may be 6-8.30pm.
Day Release
A full or part-day release to attend a course during the working week can often be approved by the student’s employer. It is recommended that the student checks the module structure of the course and contacts the relevant school to confirm teaching times, prior to application.
Distance Learning
Attendance at the University is generally not required. Study consists of
video, audio, printed and/or online materials that allow the student to
participate on the course at home or work. Supported by an assigned
tutor with communication arranged to meet both the needs of the learner and
tutor.
Block
A short intense period of study at the University this mode is particularly
useful for short courses.
Work-based learning
Employers can negotiate a programme study customised to their requirements.
Awards are structured around the learning that naturally arises in the work
place but could also involve a mix of the above study modes. For more
