About the University

We work hard to make sure that your experience here at Northumbria University is second to none.

Take student support for example - accommodation, international student advisors, libraries and study facilities. Looking after you is our job and we are great at it. This is one of the reasons why we have one of the highest course completion rates of any university in the UK (around 90%). Once you’re here, we’ll do our best to keep you here by looking after you. You’ll want to stay.

As well as student support, another reason you’ll love studying here is the city of Newcastle upon Tyne itself. Most of our courses are taught in our city-centre campus, and there isn’t a city in the UK that can match Newcastle at the moment. It’s as famous for its cultural life as it is for its social life, and it’s surrounded by some of the most beautiful and historic countryside that the UK has to offer.

There is no doubt that it is a great place to live and to be a student, with its lower cost of living and accommodation compared to other areas in the UK, its good public transport infrastructure, its International Airport – we could go on, but you will have got the point by now. After all, the forty-two thousand students currently studying in the city can’t be wrong.
