International students are increasingly choosing Northumbria
Recent figures to the 1st March provided by the admission body UCAS, show
that there is over a 7% rise in the number of undergraduate applicants to
UK institutions, but Northumbria’s figure of almost 13% surpasses
this significantly. In particular international students are
increasingly choosing Northumbria, with all overseas applications up 19%
compared to last year.
Commenting on the figures Neil Slater, Head of International Student
Recruitment, said
“We are delighted that so many international students are applying to
study at Northumbria University. Both the number and the quality of
students coming to us from overseas have been increasing steadily for many
years and we are now one of the UK’s most popular universities. We believe
our wide offering of innovative undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
represent excellent value for money.
Northumbria is a great place to study, our campus has enjoyed huge
investment over the past five years and has some truly excellent
facilities. Newcastle is a hugely popular student city with both UK
and international students, boasting a huge choice of cultural and social
attractions, while living costs are also comparatively low compared to many
other UK cities. Our quality is also recognised by employers, with 90% of
our graduates finding graduate level jobs*.”
In addition to having extremely competitive course fees and low living
costs, Northumbria University also offers international students the
opportunity to save even more, with early fee payment discounts. For
example, most new full-time overseas students starting their course this
September, who pay their full fees before 10th June, will receive a £500
discount on the fee.
