University of the Azores Summer Courses
The University of the Azores offers Summer Courses which mainly focus on promoting the region, the University, the Portuguese language and Azorean culture. The programme is run by the Departments of Modern Languages and Literature, History, Philosophy and Social Sciences, Geological Sciences, Biology, Oceanography and Fisheries and Agricultural Sciences.
As part of the programme you will be involved in trips including visits to the islands of Faial and Terceira, for one week courses on ‘The Azorean Sea – uncovering the mysteries’ and ‘The Land and the rural perspective’.
The Summer Courses at the University of the Azores are an excellent opportunity for participants of all ages and backgrounds to study and practice the Portuguese language while experiencing the beautiful Azorean culture and environment first hand. You will benefit from intensive daily coursework, field trips and visits to local attractions but also from meeting other students from all over Europe. It is a perfect way to gain the study abroad experience in short time frame. Past participants have described the experience as "life changing".
Applications for 2012 must be received by 30th of March 2012 and must be submitted to the International Relations Office of the University of the Azores.
