Francois-Rabelais University are running two summer programmes, one taught in English (Understanding Europe) and one taught in French (Culture et Litterature francaises en Val de Loire)

Understanding Europe

This 3 week long programme takes place from June 18th to July 6th 2012.  The programme offers academic courses and cultural visits.  The studies will concentrate on Europe, the construction and evolution of the European Union, its achievements and the challenges it faces.  The visits will include a visit to the European Parliament, whilst a parliamentary session is taking place, the European Council and the European Court of Human Rights. 

Culture et Litterature francaises en Val de Loire

This programme is intended for advanced students of French and is offered in partnership with the Institut de Touraine.  The programme runs from 25th June to 6th July 2012.  There are more details available in French by clicking the web link at the top of the page.

The Conseil General d'Indre-et-Loire (Local Council) offer a limited number of scholarships for these programmes.  The scholarships are between 300 and 500 Euros.

The closing date for applications is March 15th 2012 although please note a pre-registration form needs to returned to the institute by February 15th.
