Working on the Future

Many parents worry about the financial implications of university study. Now, more than ever before, a degree is seen as an investment in the future. Recent reports show average graduate lifetime earnings are up to 25% higher than those without university-level qualifications (although this figure varies between courses).

Northumbria has a strong employment record. Latest figures show that our graduates enjoy one of the strongest employment reates in the UK. Despite the recent economic downturn, 92.3%* of 2009 graduates who were available for work were either employed or undertaking further study within six months of graduating.

"Northumbria University is helping to shape this new economy, through its partnership with new industries, the use of latest technologies, a culture of innovation and entrepreneurialism, and a high proportion of professionally accredited courses with a focus on graduate attributes and employability skills."
Libby Aston, University Alliance Director

Northumbria Alumni Association - A lifelong link to the University

At Northumbria, the bond between the University and its students continues long after graduation day thanks to the Northumbria Alumni Association.

It is an exclusive club which unites over 100,000 Northumbria graduates from across the world, all with the same great experiences of this University and city.

All completing students are automatically enrolled in the Association, and can take advantage of a range of dedicated services, including a global events programme, regular communications, ongoing access to the University's careers service, discounted tuition fees for further study at Northumbria and many other benefits to help with their personal and career development.
