For those considering an alternative career in healthcare who wish to gain more insight into the role of the registered operating department practitioner within the operating theatre and other critical care areas.
What does the course cover?
Operating department practitioners are a vital part of the multidisciplinary team, based predominantly in the operating theatre. This session will provide an insight into what members of this unique and challenging profession do as part of that team.
As well as an insight into the operating department as a workplace, there will be an opportunity to discuss the role of the operating department practitioner, course requirements, and opportunities for employment on completion of the Diploma of Higher Education in Operating Department Practice (Dip HE ODP) programme.
