A Top honour for iPod designer

Design for Industry graduate, Jonathan Ive, has won a coveted award for engineering excellence.  

Jonathan Ive won the Royal Engineering Academy's President's Medal, which is given on an ad-hoc basis to people or organisations who have made specific contribution to promoting excellence in engineering.

Ive is now Vice-President of Industrial Design with Apple. He designed the iMac computer and the iPod MP3 player.

The iPod is the world's biggest selling portable digital music player. More than 35 million will have been sold by the end of this year.
