Northumbria Graduates set up year-group website
Graduates of Ridley Hall, one of Northumbria’s predecessor colleges, class of ’67 have set up their own website to keep in touch with each other.![]() |
George Sinton, one of the’67 group contacted us to let us know of the development as he felt it may act as an inspiration to other year groups to do the same. George told me, “There were just over 60 of us in that cohort and we continued at Nothern Counties College at Coach Lane until 1970 (1971 if on a degree course at the time). Over half the year group are still in touch with each other and hold reunions from time to time.” He also explained how some of the year group remain untraced, but George hopes the website may enable them to get back in touch.
Alumni, Brian Darnley, of Cypher Media, designed the website which contains
members’ only areas with the opportunity to contact other year-group
colleagues. It also has regular news updates, photographs and information
on events being organised. Any Ridley ’67 graduate who hasn’t yet
registered should visit the website and contact the site Administrator, Jonathan
Stocker.
It really is a great idea to keep in touch and the Alumni Association is
pleased to hear that Ridley Hall graduates are still such good
friends more than forty years after graduation. If you feel that
you would like to set up your own group why not visit the Ridley Hall Website for some inspiration.
If you’re still in touch with all your old course mates or have set up your
own website for your class graduation year, please let us know, we’d love
to see it! Likewise, if you’d like some free assistance in tracking down
some of your old course mates, don’t forget the Alumni Association’s Trace a Friend service.
