Student Volunteering Week (Monday February 22nd- Sunday February 28th) is a
national series of events aiming to promote and celebrate student
volunteering both in universities and in the wider community. During this
nationally recognised week, Northumbria Student Community Action (NSCA),
will be offering a huge variety of activities for students and members of
the public to get involved in.
The events and activities on offer are:
-
Ping Pong Rally, Tuesday 23rd Feb, 2.30-4pm,
taking place at Northumbria University Coach Lane Campus, SU Café Bar, In aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
This will be a high paced (and very fun) take on the classic game, accompanied by a DJ.
Admission is FREE, but all donations to Sir Bobby Robson Foundation will be gratefully received!
-
Tea Dance, Wednesday 24th Feb 1.30-3-30pm,
in Domain, Northumbria University City Campus Students’ Union.
This event is particularly aimed at those over 50, but is a great chance for anyone who wants to strut their stuff on the dance floor or just sample the wonderful selections of home made cakes…… Tickets £3
-
Lego Auction, Thursday 25th Feb, 6.30-7.30pm
At Richard Ling Gallery, Gosforth. In aid of Children North East
Please come and join us for this fantastic event and the opportunity to bid on a variety of Lego items from sculptures to coasters to traditional Lego sets for kids!
Lego sculptures built by students will be auctioned by Fine Art auctioneer Jim Railton. Admission is FREE and all adults will receive a complimentary glass of wine
-
Swap Shop, Saturday 27th Feb, 1-5pm.
In Domain, Northumbria University City Campus Students Union.
Recycle is the name of the game! Bring your old clothes and swap them for some new ones! Seems like the perfect solution! The new item you want to buy isn’t quite your size? That’s no problem either as there’ll be trained volunteers running an alterations stall so you can still have your dream item!
Tickets £3 (free to helpers on the alteration stall)
N.B. Due to the expected popularity of the alterations service the Students’ Union are looking for more volunteers to help out on the day!
If you would like any publicity or info about these events please contact
