School of Life Sciences to host PsyPAG Annual Conference
The School of Life Sciences will host the 2012 PsyPAG Annual Conference which runs from 18 - 20 July 2012.
The Conference in its 27th year is expected to attract in excess of 150 delegates to Northumbria University, bringing together psychology Masters and PhD students, and those in postgraduate professional training.
PsyPAG (Psychology Postgraduate Affairs Group) is a national organisation for all psychology postgraduates based at UK Institutions. Funded by the Research Board of the British Psychological Society, PsyPAG is run on a voluntary basis by postgraduates for postgraduates.
The bid to hold the Conference was won by a committee of four of the School’s PhD students, who are based in the Department of Psychology, namely: Greg Elder, Amy Fielden, Sarah Goldie and Laura Neale.
Amy Fielden said “The team is delighted to be hosting the Conference at Northumbria, highlighting the University’s excellent track record in postgraduate study and the fantastic facilities on offer. We are certain that the naming of Newcastle upon Tyne, as the UK’s number one city for students by MSN.com, for the second year in a row, will help to attract attendees and we are keen to attract delegates from the North East in order to demonstrate the high quality of postgraduate work coming out of the region”.
