Your Northumbria - Enrolment and Induction Guide

This guide (pdf document) is intended to provide you with all the essential information you need as a new student - please download a copy and read it carefully.

Checklist - before arrival
- Enrol online and upload a photograph for your smartcard (visit MyNorthumbria)
- Make sure you know where you need to be and at what time on your first day (visit Induction Information)
- Make sure your student finance is in order - you'll need to pay your fees either before or when you arrive, or bring evidence to prove who is paying your fees (visit Finance)
- Check the final arrangements for moving in to your accommodation if you're not living at home
- Think about how you're going to make your money last
- Make sure you've got all your important documentation together in one place: your photo ID, information about who is paying your fees, your medical cards, your CRB Enhanced Disclosure (if applicable), your smartcard (if this has been posted to you)
- If you are a disabled student and haven't already contacted Disability Support, do this now on 0191 227 3849 or email sv.disability@northumbria.ac.uk
- Familiarise yourself with the campus before you arrive by checking out the satellite functionality on Google maps
- Check out the events that are happening in the Students' Union during Welcome Week (visit www.mynsu.co.uk)
- The Great North Run is happening on Sunday 18 September - many roads around the University will be closed so plan your journey in advance to avoid getting caught up in traffic
- If you are an International student, don't forget to book 'Meet and Greet' and your place on the EU and International Induction
- International students - don't forget to keep important documents in your hand luggage as you will need them when you go through customs
