Charles is Head of the Maths and Statistics suite of programmes and is the principal lecturer in Applied Mathematics.

 

While studying at Leeds University he obtained a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and then went on to do his PhD. 

 

After doing ten years of collaborative research with NEI Parsons and one and a half years teaching at Norwich City College, he came to Northumbria University in 1980.  Charles particularly enjoys teaching applied mathematics and maths modelling.
