My first degree was in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive) which I studied at Hertfordshire University before doing a postgraduate degree in Advanced Manufacturing Systems at Teesside University. I enjoyed both very much and before coming to Northumbria University in 2003, I’d continued in those areas in both academia and industry working on knowledge transfer projects.

Now I’m a full time lecturer, I love the variety – every group of students are different, and it’s great to see final year projects on display at national graduate design shows.

Away from work I enjoy watching and playing football, and riding in motorcycle trials.
