I studied Mathematics at Surrey University as an undergraduate and then
became a Scientific Officer at the Royal Aircraft Establishment in
Farnborough. After that, I returned to Surrey to complete a PhD and then
became a Research Officer/ Group Leader for the International Research and
Development Co in Newcastle upon Tyne.
I joined Northumbria University (or Newcastle Polytechnic as it was then)
in 1974 and specialise in the computing area of the School, teaching mainly
programming and programming assessment tools.
Away from the university, I enjoy fell walking.
