When I first went to university, I suppose I envisaged a different career
than the one I have now as I studied Commerce in Dublin. I didn’t really
enjoy it so I changed subjects at postgraduate level and enrolled on the
MSc in Information and Library Management here at Northumbria and I loved
it! I now teach here (joined in 2000) after a spell at Newcastle College
and, as you might expect, my interests have developed into broader subjects
within the ILM field.
I enjoy very much the interactions with colleagues and students as well as
the opportunities to develop modules that I’m interested in and committed
to. At certain times of the year, I also get the chance to think about new
ideas and I’m towards starting a PhD this year.
My idea of ultimate luxury is to spend a long time reading the Sunday
papers with coffee and orange juice, as is spending three hours reading a
book from cover to cover, going to the movies, concerts, going swimming,
walking on the beach, running or meeting friends.
