PV System Design and Development

Activities in this area include BIPV resource assessment, PV system performance monitoring and evaluation, grid connection of PV systems especially impacts and thermophotovoltaic (TPV) systems.

NPAC is part of the Scheme Management Contractor Consortium (led by BRE) for the UK PV Domestic Field trial and is responsible for comparative assessment of system performance over the 28 sites included in the trial. (Photograph courtesy of PV Systems)

We also lead the systems performance activities in the EU FP6 project PERFORMANCE, which is undertaking pre-normative research on testing and assessment procedures throughout the PV value chain.
