All staff and student projects (both research and taught courses) must be carried out in accordance with the University ethical standards. CEIS has its own Ethics Committee which meets 3 times a year.

If the project involves working with vulnerable groups (such as children, or other young people under 18 years of age, elderly people, asylum seekers, those with ill health or some form of disability),  or where the research or research-based consultancy involves commercially/personally/politically sensitive information, issues arising from intellectual property rights,  or where there are any risks for the researcher or for the participants in relation to the research procedures to be adopted, then the researcher is required to describe how these will be approached.
