Sue Childs

Sue Childs is a Research Fellow working within the Information Management Innovation Research Group of the School of Computing, Engineering and Information Sciences.

Sue Childs conducts externally funded research projects in a range of subject areas within the domain of information and communication studies. Her particular research interests are: records management; health information; electronic provision of information and use of new technologies such as cloud computing; evidence-based practice; information and critical / evaluative skills. She uses mainly qualitative research methods and has a particular interest in carrying out systematic literature reviews.

In addition to her research activities, she teaches on a number of modules. These have included Records Management; Research Methods; Information in Society; Nursing Informatics.

Recent projects include:

  • Accelerating positive change in e-records management, funded by the AHRC, January 2007 to March 2010
  • Investigation into the use of Microsoft SharePoint in HEIs, funded by Eduserv, 2009.
