Elizabeth Lomas - PhD student
A doctoral student in Records Management and a module tutor on Northumbria
University's Records Management MSc and Information Rights LLM,
Elizabeth’s research concentrates on confronting the
challenges of successful communication and communication management within a
range of organisations. In order to pursue her research, Elizabeth has
established a co-operative inquiry group of 80 international multidisciplinary

Elizabeth’s thesis is entitled "Continued communication: maximising
organisational communications taking into account the impact of the
individual and professional support systems” supervised by Professor
Julie McLeod and Dr David Wainwright in the School of Computing,
Engineering and Information Sciences. Elizabeth is analysing the impact of
communication management and multidisciplinary expertise on communication
and collaborative success within organisations. The research takes into
account the impact of the individual. Personality profiling and learning
preferences are being built into the study. Details on Elizabeth’s
papers and publications are available at the attached page.
The co-operative inquiry group has developed its own identity and brand,
Continued Communication. The Group is investigating
communications in the 21st century. A website is currently in development (
www.continuedcommunication.org) and this will
provide details of the Group’s outputs, including a communication
architecture toolkit, films, podcasts and papers. It is also the host to
the Group’s blog ‘Through the virtual looking glass’.
