Marie Curie Research Project

Title of the Project: SnS PV Cells

  • Project duration: 2 Years
  • Project  Investigators: Prof R W Miles, Prof K T Ramakrishna Reddy
  • Start Date: 1st February 2011

Awarding agency:

Research Executive Agency, European Commission, Brussels.
Seventh Framework Programme - Grant Agreement No.: 251802

Objectives of the Project:

  • Preparation of conformal and pinhole free SnS films by evaporation/sulphidisation of tin layers using various deposition conditions
  • Optimisation of the deposition conditions for obtaining uniform, pinhole free and polycrystalline SnS layers
  • Development of highly efficient SnS-based thin film heterojunctions and the evaluation of the junction solar cell performance.
  • Economic and environmental analysis of the SnS layers
