Mathematical Modelling Lab

The Mathematical Modelling Lab (MML) research group at Northumbria University conducts internationally-leading research in applied mathematics and statistics, with focus and internationally-recognised strengths in the mathematical modelling of a variety of “real world” problems in the physical sciences, life sciences, engineering and health.

The MML has internationally-renowned strengths and excellence in several areas of applied mathematics and statistics including: symmetries and quantum theory, nonlinear waves and integrable systems, magnetohydrodynamics, and longitudinal data analysis. The research group has an active and vibrant research culture with frequent overseas visitors.
