Research aims are to investigate the extent to which industries in Indonesia apply lean manufacturing techniques, to develop and establish an appropriate performance measurement model of lean manufacturing practice for the Indonesian manufacturing industries, and the basis of the developed performance measurement model to establish the level of performance improvement for Indonesian manufacturing industries which have chosen to apply lean manufacturing practices in Indonesia.

Originality of research is to establish a new performance measurement model for lean manufacturing practices and developing an innovative indicator to determine the potential benefits of lean implementations.
