The Legal Structure of Mental Health Services

INTRODUCTION
The way in which mental health services are organised, delivered and
regulated has been reorganised many times in recent years. The purpose of
this article is to summarise the present position, and it is informative,
rather than analytical. The service changes are dealt with in the following
order:
(A) The National Health Service
(B) The Provision of Social Care
(C) The Provision of Independent Healthcare
(D) Maintaining Quality Standards
