Legal Issues for Online Businesses
Monday 6 February 2012, 1 - 3pm at Newcastle City Library
Are you thinking about setting up a website to sell your goods or services?
Do you already have a website but are confused about what you need or what your legal obligations are?
This interactive workshop is designed to assist new and emerging businesses who want to learn more about the legal issues associated with trading online. It will cover issues such as dealing with web designers, terms and conditions and data protection.
The session will be run by students from Northumbria University’s award winning Student Law Office with support from their supervisor, Elaine Campbell, who is a commercial and intellectual property lawyer.
The Student Law Office is a legal clinic where students are trained to provide a comprehensive and free legal service to members of the public as an integral part of their legal education. Students take on real cases and provide a full legal service, conducting interviews, researching, advising, drafting and, in suitable cases, providing representation. Their work is closely supervised by fully qualified solicitors and barristers, but normally all client contact is through the students.
