Business Awareness in Law Project
The Student Law Office at Northumbria Law School is a key partner in the new 'Business Awareness in Law' project, which aims to increase business awareness.Working in collaboration with Newcastle Business School, law students have already benefited from the support of Angie McLean, a local entrepreneur with extensive contacts in local small and medium sized enterprises.
Students have accompanied Angie to business seminars and face-to-face meetings, to see for themselves the type of issues concerning businesses today. Angie also presented to the students in her 'Stand and Deliver' lecture, where she invited students to present themselves to a prospective employer within a 2 minute 'elevator pitch', which proved highly entertaining.
The project will run over 2 years, involving the development of a 'business awareness' strand throughout the undergraduate degree course and strengthens the Student Law Office's existing portfolio to increase employability.
