Northumbria plays host to Law Society Diversity Event
Northumbria Law School in conjunction with the Law Society recently hosted an event on diversity in the legal profession.The event, entitled 'Achieving Diversity and Maximising Business Potential' attracted members of the regional legal profession as well as staff and students of Northumbria Law School.
Speakers included Paul Marsh, President of the Law Society, Caroline Wilson, Director of Diversity at Eversheds, Ola Oduwole, Director of Corporate Service, Borough of Barrow in Furness and Liaquat Latif, Solicitor and Chair of the North East Solicitors Ethnic Diversity Group.
Caroline gave a fascinating account of the steps Eversheds had taken to ensure a diverse workforce while Liaquat presented from a regional perspective.
A lively question and answer session followed with a networking reception afterwards.
