Mediation Skills Competition for UK Students 2012
Joanne Grey (LPC) and Catherine Maclaine (MLaw) made it to the finals of the Mediation Skills Competition for UK Students held recently in London.

Organised by the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators, the competition was open to universities and law colleges throughout the UK.
Students got the unique opportunity to exercise their problem-solving skills in mock mediations guided by professional mediators. Student teams were divided into requesting and responding parties and adopted the role of counsel and client before an experienced mediator and two judges.
Although Northumbria were not the winning team, judges were so impressed by their performance that Joanne and Catherine have been invited to compete in the 7th ICC INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL MEDIATION COMPETITION to be held in Paris from 3 February to 8 February 2012.
Congratulations to the team who worked incredibly hard to achieve an excellent result for both themselves and the Law School and good luck for the international competition in Paris.
