Areas of work
Student Law Office modules are offered on a number of programmes. On the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) students can choose to complete the Student Law Office as an elective subject. On the Exempting Law Degree all students participate in the Student Law Office modules in year 3 and in year 4. In year 3 a full year module enables students to develop skills, professional awareness and reflective abilities required for participation in the Student Law Office. In year 4 students participate in the Student Law Office Live Client programme offering a full legal service to clients as part of a specialist "firm".
A wide range of legal areas are covered depending on the interests of the staff working in the Student Law Office.
Students work in "firms" of 6 with an expert supervisor covering the following areas:
