Singapore Alumni Gathering Success!
The Newcastle Business School was delighted to host our first Alumni gathering in Singapore last week with our graduates now residing in the country.
The event took place at the Axis Bar and Lounge within the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Central Singapore and was hosted by the School Dean, Professor Sharon Mavin, Ceridwyn Bessant, Associate Dean for Postgraduate, Dr. Julie Crumbley, Associate Dean for Undergraduate and Jakki Holland, Senior Lecturer and Singapore Partnership Manager. We welcomed over 25 of our Alumni.
The gathering was an informal event, with networking over drinks and canapés and saw a great mixture of Alumni from different degree programmes and graduation years which made for a very interesting and entertaining networking event. Some had graduated as far back as 1986 and more recently 2011, from a range of programmes such as the MBA, Accounting, Marketing, International Business and Human Resource Management.
Professor Sharon Mavin commented: “It was fantastic to host another Alumni event, this time in Singapore and welcome back so many enthusiastic graduates. Our graduates are very important to us and we’re proud of everyone who has studied our programmes. Events like these are a fantastic way to keep in touch with our Alumni: to hear about careers, promotions, families and re-locations; experiencing firsthand our growing international community of practice. We’re really looking forward to hosting another Alumni event in Singapore again soon”.
The Newcastle Business School’s priority is to keep in touch with all our students – wherever they may live. We value the importance of creating global networks where former students can keep in touch with old friends, network, debate issues and think creatively with like-minded people.
