Psychology and Sport Sciences - An International School

A very warm welcome to all our international friends who may be thinking of coming to study with us, or indeed are already studying one of our exciting programmes, within the School of Psychology & Sport Sciences.   Northumbria University is a truly international university attracting students from all over the world onto a variety of exciting programmes and our School is no exception.  We have students from many countries including China, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Qatar, Malaysia, Australia, Canada and countless other countries throughout Europe. The School has developed partnerships with many prestigious institutes throughout the world including Asia, North America and Europe.

We pride ourselves on the support network we offer to all our international students.  Working closely with the University’s Central International Office and other service departments within the University we offer all our international students a wide range of support services for academic, pastoral and student wellbeing. All our international students have designated international guidance tutors that are trained to deal with issues that may be unique to an international student.  Extra support sessions are also offered each week from staff at the Academic Skills International (ASK) Department who have created a tailored-made curriculum to help students whose first language may not be English and who have not studied in English Institute before.

We believe that an international community of students offers a unique learning experience where both students and staff can learn form each other.  It is this philosophy that has helped the School increase the number of global partnerships it is currently working with, as well as the number of international students studying our programmes.
