We are a vibrant and multi-disciplinary School within Northumbria University, providing an exciting environment for a diverse community of researchers and students in Arts and Social Sciences. The School’s programmes are consistently recognised as being excellent in quality assessments, reflecting the University’s commitment to becoming one of the world’s leading learning and teaching universities.  

The School brings together staff and students in five of the University’s most successful Departments and the English Language Centre. A locus of top-quality research and outstanding teaching, the School offers students, communities and businesses, at home and around the world, a unique range of subjects in a multi-disciplinary environment. We are committed to providing courses that have a true focus on employment and the professions, to help our students achieve academic excellence whilst also preparing them for the world of work.

The School has formed excellent links and partnerships across the North East, nationally and internationally, with schools, colleges, museums, art and theatre companies, media, sports teams, charities, local authorities and regional agencies. Staff and students are encouraged to engage with the community and to build on our success as a local business and community resource.
