Teaching Interests
Ewan's teaching interests encompass courses on social history, labour and working class history as well as courses on social protest movements. He is responsible for the following modules:

HI0502: Building America: Labour, Class and Nation, 1600-1920
HI0501: Barricades and Bullets
HI0510: Employment Skills and Work Placement
HI0617: Community, Power and Everyday Life in Britain, 1750-1920
Research Interests
Ewan's research interests lie in the social history of work, particularly in the area of morbidity and injury in the work environment, as well as death and injury in the nineteenth century railway industry. In addition he has an ongoing interest in the history of the middle class and working class. He would welcome inquiries from individuals contemplating postgraduate study in any of these broad areas.
