MA Fashion Management and Entrepreneurship

The MA Fashion Management and Entrepreneurship delivers an advanced understanding of the global fashion industry. The pathway caters for the increasing demand for highly skilled managers and executives in this sector and is equally suited to applicants from design, technological or business disciplines wishing to enhance their career prospects. The pathway will develop entrepreneurial skills by examining case studies and live situations from industry.


Your course in brief

This pathway is available in full time and part time mode. Full time is delivered over 3 semesters in continuous mode while part time is delivered over 6 semesters in continuous mode. The full time mode has two intakes in an academic year (September and January) while the part time mode has only one intake (September). When applying, please specify on the application form which mode of study and which start date you wish to apply for.

All postgraduate pathways delivered in London include the module “Ethical & Environmental Values” which introduces our approach to this important area and which will stimulate personal consideration and evaluation of the relationship between commerce, the environment, and people.

The pathway will provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of how the fashion industry works, by examining the processes, roles and objectives that define this complex industry. The pathway consists of three taught modules, an industry project (S2) and a major research project (S3). The industry project will allow students to pursue research or a special project tailored to their career aspirations. The final major project is a master’s dissertation on an original topic, or a major management project such as a complex business plan. The subject will be proposed by the student, agreed by student and tutor, and developed under tutorial supervision.

The MA Fashion Management and Entrepreneurship pathway is designed for graduates or experienced professionals from design, technological or business disciplines who wish to enhance their career prospects in the fashion industry.

Graduates from the pathway will enter, or return to, the industry at senior levels or may look to develop innovative individual business opportunities. Career opportunities exist in specific fields including: design product management, project and account management, buying, marketing and retail management, sourcing and supply chain management, and within organisations specialising in the fields of ethical and environmental values.
