Our Design for Social Equity focuses on design practice (widely defined) which aims to engender the conditions that will enable communities to empower themselves and achieve fair access to a decent livelihood, education, and adequate resources; full participation in political and cultural life and self-determination in meeting their fundamental needs.
Our stakeholders include international development organisations (including CSR aspects of multinationals), with general appeal to the design management/innovation community.
We consider issues such as costing a living wage into the price paid for fashion, how to nurture sustainable craft enterprises whilst respecting cultural traditions.
