Teach Less Integrate More...

Paul Backet, Industrial Design Director at Ziba - a multi-award winning design consultancy in the USA has ranked Northumbria School of Design as one of the top institutions for Industrial Design Education in the Global Design Community.

In his six-part series 'Teach Less Integrate More' featured in Core 77, Backet is rethinking Design Education and believes Industrial Design teaching must be brought in line with the needs of the design profession in order to push students and prepare them for the outside world.

Backet has ranked our school alongside 6 others around the world including the Royal College of Art, Design Academy Eindhoven and the Hong lk University as Global Leaders and institutions he "really respects" and believes that the Design Education Community should learn from.

At Northumbria School of Design, we are proud to name some of the world's leading designers as our Alumni including Jonathan Ive (CBE) who leads the design team repsonsible for the iMac, iPod, iPhone and iPad, Tim Brown the CEO of IDEO and Warren Trezevant who is a core member of the Pixar Studios animation team and has worked on movies such as Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, Toy Story and The Incredibles.
