Third year Graphic Design student Alex Edwards has won two national awards, the Student Roses Creativity Award 2012 and the Roses Advertising Award 2012 for his project to revive the power of the written word.
Concerned by surveys showing how text messaging is impacting on people's ability to write, Alex created his book to celebrate the English language in the written word as well as the crafts of book making and typography.
His work was considered so strong that he was one of only three students selected to compete at the Roses Creative Awards where he earned the gold medal in the student category and a placement at award-winning advertising agency BJL in Manchester.
