BRAND, BRANDED ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNICATION
Missed out on meeting the man responsible for the branded environments of Topshop, Next, Nokia, River Island and many more many high street stores in the UK retail design industry?  Then dont worry as we have everything from the event right here!

The School of Design, Northumbria University were very pleased to welcome David Dalziel, Creative Director and founder of Dalziel + Pow, the leading interior design consultancy in the UK to give, what was an outstanding and inspirational insight into the world of Interior Branding.

Background

Dalziel + Pow work with some of the biggest retail design brands on the UK high street ensuring that these retailers stay engaged with their customers through that all important customer - brand relationship.  Helping these retailers realise that their store’s interior branding is a massive marketing asset, David and his team have been behind some of the biggest brand overhauls that the high street has ever seen.

“We are a design consultancy with one aim: to create great customer experiences. We believe in the role of design to connect brands with their customers, stakeholders and staff. Design is a critical business tool and, when used effectively, it can deliver not only profitability, but also visibility, credibility and efficiency.”

It’s not just in the UK that retailers turn to David for his branding expertise either.  When Topshop decided to launch its New York City store, there was only one design consultancy that they trusted to see out the brand creation stateside.  The launch of Topshop NYC had massive impact with the brand interior gaining worldwide press and securing Dalziel + Pow a global reputation.

Following David’s presentation there was a private view of our ‘Interior Design With Us’ exhibition* showcasing work by our Interior Design students in response to industry set briefs.

David's presentation was part of the Interior Futures '11 Conference in association with Interior Educators which took place over the 3rd/4th March 2011.  To view presenters PowerPoints or listen to audio from the presentations visit the Interior Futures webpage
