Style Without Boundaries
Our unique exhibition of smartphone captured imagery showed real style from across the globe irrespective of age, sex or culture. As a UK first, Northumbria University teamed up with smart photo sharing app EyeEm to change people’s perception of what street style really is with a ground breaking exhibition during the London Design Festival.
The live and interactive exhibition at the School of Design, London displayed the top ten winning photographs in all their glory as hand crafted large prints, alongside a selection of small prints from the top 150. We also had all 750 submissions projected onto the wall or displayed on iMacs and Galaxy Tablets so that every worldwide style possible was on display.
The private view of the exhibition was a great night with many creatives from industry, members of the iPhoneography Group, the team at IGersLondon [Instagram], and our Fashion Alumni coming together to appreciate the photos that had been submitted to the Style Without Boundaries call.
How Style Without Boundaries came together
From August 15th smartphone users across all continents were asked to capture what they believed real street style to be. Images were uploaded to a live vibe on the EyeEm website via its smartphone photo sharing app where people viewed an interesting and ground-breaking view of what people truly believe street style to be.
Throughout August the public were our judges and via comments and likes we took a selection of the top rated images to a specially selected judging panel who selected a top ten for the exhibition.
