Ageing Studies Research Programme
CCG is a research and development centre based in Northumbria University, which aims to promote and support research for and with older people.
CCG has a commitment to reflect the experiences of service users and providers by exploring access to, delivery of and outcomes from the range of services and agencies which provide them.
CCG has a commitment to developing innovations in provision by beginning with the experience of service users, and the needs and preferences that they have, and planning and evaluating provision accordingly.
CCG has a commitment to the development of knowledge which is led by service users in their involvement with the development of thinking and practice through research and teaching.
The involvement of older people and service deliverers is achieved through:
- Inclusion in research proposals, planning, management, data collection and reporting
- Inclusion in seminar series as presenters and audience
- Inclusion in dissemination activities, report and paper writing
- Inclusion in education and studentship programmes as teachers, supervisors and students.
- Older people moving into and between care homes
- Life in care homes
- Older people using information
- Older people moving out of hospital
- Older people and urban regeneration
- Older people and preventative services (POPPS)
- Older people maintaining well-being in four different countries
- Older people living in rural environments.
Members are also involved in publishing papers and editing journals and books.
