Community Campus

www.communitycampus.org.uk

Community Campus is a new collaborative initiative that aims to develop a knowledge exchange process between Northumbria University and Voluntary/Third Sector (non-profit making) Organisations.

Working in the areas of Ageing, Disability, Community Development and Social Enterprise this virtual network has a focus on bringing together University and community initiatives in relation to enhancing knowledge, be that through research, evaluation, professional development or building sustainable partnerships.  Working together in a multi-agency and multidisciplinary manner will enhance the sharing of best practice between projects and provide a strong basis for future learning.

Currently, the main areas of focus for Community Campus are:
  • Evaluation: its purpose and application
  • Learning: strengthening the exchange of knowledge between communities and universities, students and the workplace.
  • Collaboration: building accessible, practical and inclusive structures that work towards building a strategic vision
  • Development: bringing together information, provision, training and applied research in practical outcomes
