Flexible Learning

Northumbria University has a number of schemes whereby students can study either small numbers of modules or larger packages of modules that do not equate to a standard award. These are described in the document procedures for individual learners.

The Work-Based Learning Framework was approved in Autumn 2005 and can be used to develop programmes of study that respond to the needs of corporate clients and other organisations and individuals working in, and learning in and through the workplace.

Other schemes allow for prior experience of learning to be accredited, for the accreditation of learning delivered in partnership with commercial and public sector organisations and for exchange arrangements with overseas institutions.
