Important Message issued by the Financial Accounts Department
Following changes to Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC) VAT Regulations from 1 January 2010, it is now a requirement to record the VAT registration number for all EU customers, excluding student type accounts. Therefore, can you ensure that all requests for new accounts submitted to SAP contain either the VAT registration number or confirm they are not VAT registered. This will include requests relating to all EU customers, whether UK or non-UK. If this information is not supplied, then the account cannot be set up in SAP.
