Payroll Deadlines
Payroll deadline is the final day the Payroll team can accept information to be processed for that month’s pay – usually the 11th of the month. This means that Payroll can only accept changes/information from HR, and casual and additional payment claims from Schools and Services, up until this date.
In order to notify Payroll of any new starters or changes, the request must be approved by the Resources Sub-Group (if applicable) and updated on the HR Oracle system. The Payroll team are then notified, via the HR system, of the changes.
To allow time for HR to process this information, we request that you ensure we receive the information at least 2-3 days before the deadline. If the request is to increase a member of staff's hours or extend a fixed-term contract for more than 6 months, it will require approval by the Resources Sub-Group before it can be processed. If we receive it late, we will endeavour to process it as soon as we can, although it may not take effect until the following month.
The deadlines shown below are the final dates for receipt of claims if payment is to be made on the date shown. We advise that items should be hand delivered rather than using the internal mail when the deadline day approaches.
If you are new to the University, or if your job is changing, all relevant paperwork should be submitted to the HR Department at least 2 days before the published deadline to allow time for processing. Anything received after a payroll deadline will be processed in time for the following month’s payroll.
